In a cramped curriculum
the only way that a project can achieve long-term success is through
integration into the curriculum, so an event recurs annually or is guaranteed
to be revisited by several departments over a period of time. It becomes
embedded in the routine of the school.
Integration means
adding it to leson plans, the school's, department's and the individual's
interpretation of the National Curriculum.
It is an intriguing
question as to what extent film / media should be separate (and therefore
highlighted) or integrated and therefore possibly taken for granted)
in the curriculum. Will media studies courses at GCSE help or hinder?
